The International Marriage Broker Regulation Act ( Imbra ) was passed by congress in 2006 by Senator Maria Cantwell in a move that restricted how men communicate with foreign brides. Despite the success of the legislation and the industry’s compliance with Imbra, it is still crucial for prospective wives to be aware of the dangers of entering these ties.
